american animation industry

Why blame the video game industry?

Im finding it kinda of strange why loads of American mothers are complaining about games haveing, sex, drugs and violence.

Yet whats the different between watching…SAW (example) and playing Gears of War? they are both 18+ both of them are rated ‘Strong Bloody Violence’ yet mothers always blame the videos games when infact all a kid has to do is log on a computer and go on redtube for example.

The only different is that films you watch and games are just interactive animations.

Even Viva Pinata (xbox360) was on T.V due to violence…when you just grow gardens? i loved that game :)

And if someone kills someone in Gears of War or Halo, im pretty sure they have more common sence than to go out to a shop a chainsaw someone…since when do you see 5 years olds with chainsaws?

And who buys there M+ games for them anyway, the kids have no jobs…Hmm, and why do parents say games a sexual when all a woman does is flash her knickers like ‘Dead or Alive’?

The outrage that many people have against video games is fueled mainly by ignorance. Looking for an outlet for blame, people target the newest development of this age: video games. But their anger is totally unjustified, as you say. I don’t think people realize the amount of movies underage kids sneak into or are brought to watch. Media is a prime source for influential behavior, and video games may be a part of that source, but so are television and movies.

The M rated games is also another thing. If parents are offended by sexual material and blood and violence and gore, then they shouldn’t get their kids those games. Some claim ignorance of not understanding the ESRB rating, but what’s not to get? It’s rated M for Mature, and has details about the contents of the game.

But your point about the common sense about the chainsaw thing, you’d be surprised the kinds of people in the world who lack and sort of definitive intellect and pretty much make you lose faith in the human race.
